MATCHAWAN YOZA

The Yoza matchawan is intended for drinking matcha and is hand-made of clay of the highest quality. This traditional bowl has its origins in the Japanese tea tradition and is adapted to preparing matcha with a bamboo whisk. All cups are hand-painted, which means that each vessel receives a unique, spotted pattern. It looks like freshly dipped in dark blue paint with a touch of purple. The Yoza matchawan was designed and created by Quiet Form, a boutique ceramics studio from Kyiv, which specialises in top-quality products. Quite Form was founded by Tanya and Alex, admirers of beautiful shapes and natural colours. The cups form the studio are hand-crafted, giving each of them its unique character.

The traditional way to prepare matcha comes from the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It involves using a matcha bowl, a bamboo whisk- chasen and a bamboo spoon- chashaku. Place 2 chashaku spoons of matcha (1,5g) in a matcha bowl and pour 100ml of hot water (80 °C). Chasen in hand, vigorously whisk your matcha from the wrist in m-shaped, not circular, motion. In about 20 seconds your bowl should be filled with a perfect jade-green foam. You can add more water now if you like your matcha to be less strong.
