Matchawan Kumo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

KUMO is a Japanese matcha bowl inspired by the stillness of the sky and the natural rhythm of the world around us. Its name comes from the Japanese kumo (\u96f2), meaning both “cloud” and “mist” – symbols of lightness, freedom, and the ever-changing nature of existence, deeply woven into Japanese philosophy and art. For centuries, clouds have appeared in poetry, painting, and ceremony as a metaphor for quiet contemplation, reflection, and the harmony between humanity and nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rounded form and subtly irregular rim give the bowl an organic character, evoking a soft cloud drifting across a calm sky. The glaze, in cool shades of grey, catches light with quiet grace – a minimalist composition grounded in the spirit of wabi-sabi. In Japanese culture, an overcast sky and the gentle presence of rain symbolize a moment of pause, mindfulness, and inner calm. Matcha preparation in a bowl<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The traditional way to prepare matcha comes from the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It involves using a matcha bowl, a bamboo whisk- chasen and a bamboo spoon- chashaku. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place 2 chashaku spoons of matcha (1,5g) in a matcha bowl and pour 100ml of hot water (80 \u00b0C). Chasen in hand, vigorously whisk your matcha from the wrist in m-shaped, not circular, motion. In about 20 seconds your bowl should be filled with a perfect jade-green foam. You can add more water now if you like your matcha to be less strong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
