How to make cold brew tea, and why it's worth doing in summer?
As the warmer days arrive, we're increasingly drawn to refreshing drinks. One of the simplest and most natural ways to cool off is cold brew tea – tea steeped cold. This method of preparing tea brings out a milder, more subtle flavour from the leaves, without the bitterness that hot brewing can sometimes produce. The infusion is delicate, lightly sweet, and very pleasant to drink – perfect for summer.
Cold brew bottles – style and functionality
To make preparing cold brew even simpler and more enjoyable, we created Moya Matcha glass cold brew bottles. Available in two sizes – 350 ml and 750 ml – they're made of heat-resistant glass and feature a built-in filter that separates the leaves from the infusion. This means your cold brew stays clear, and brewing your tea requires no additional accessories.
The silicone top gives the bottle a modern look, while its classic shape means it looks great on the table or out in the garden. It also makes a wonderful gift idea – for tea enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
How to make cold brew tea, step by step
Cold brew tea couldn't be simpler to make – all it takes is a few hours of patience. Place a teaspoon of your favourite loose-leaf tea in the bottle for every 250 ml of water. Top up with cold water and place in the fridge for 7–12 hours. That's it!
There's no need to worry about proportions or temperature – the tea will brew itself, slowly and naturally. You can drink the finished infusion straight from the bottle or pour it over ice into a glass, garnished with fruit or mint leaves. Our bottles also work beautifully for fruit infusions – simply add slices of citrus, cucumber, or herbs.

Why kukicha?
If you're not sure where to start, we recommend kukicha – tea made from the stems of the green tea plant. It has a mild, lightly nutty flavour, a low caffeine content, and tastes wonderful cold. It's the perfect choice for hot days – for children, adults, and anyone who wants to stay hydrated with something they'll actually enjoy. If you prefer a sweeter taste, add a touch of yuzu-flavoured syrup.
