Matcha Brownie

If you're a fan of green matcha tea, or simply looking for an interesting twist on traditional sweets, this recipe is perfect for you. Matcha Brownie combines the slight bitterness of Japanese matcha tea with delicate sweetness, a hint of coconut and a fruity touch of raspberries or strawberries.

This cake is not only delicious but also visually striking – with its beautiful green colour and distinctive character. It works wonderfully as a dessert with afternoon tea or as a healthy snack during the day. Try our recipe!

Ingredients:
  • 200ml oil
  • 250g sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 170g plain flour
  • 1.5 tablespoons (15g) Moya Matcha Daily or Moya Matcha Culinary
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons desiccated coconut
  • 160g raspberries/strawberries (fresh or frozen)

Method:
  • Beat the oil with the sugar until smooth. Then, continuing to mix on medium speed, add the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  • Next, sift the flour together with the salt, baking powder and matcha, then mix thoroughly so the ingredients are well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixture and blend until smooth.
  • Pour the batter onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper, then arrange the fruit on top and sprinkle the whole thing with desiccated coconut.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for around 40 minutes, until the cake is springy and lightly golden. Once baked, leave to cool. Your Matcha Brownie is ready!
