Hojicha latte has many fan all over the world. It is made with hojicha powder, little bit of hot water and frothed milk. But before you run off to make your hojicha latte, we would like to explain what is hojicha powder. Hojicha is a green leaf tea. but what makes it different, is the roasting process after harvest. It gives the tea a toasty, smoky aroma, unique nutty-caramel flavour and also lowers its caffeine levels. That’s why it is suitable for pregnant women and children. So hojicha powder is basically powdered hojicha tea. The taste of hojicha latte may remind us a little of hot cocoa or coffee. If you are not a tea lover, give it a try and it may surprise you! Ingredients for hojicha latte:
  • 1 teaspoon  Moya Hojicha Powder
  • 50 ml hot water (around 80°C)
  • 200 ml milk or plant milk of your choice
Recipe for hojicha latte:
Mix Hojicha Powder with water using milk frother or if you have, you can use chasen – bamboo whisk traditionally used to prepare matcha. The powder won’t dissolve in water, so you have to mix it thoroughly. Warm up the milk of your choice, froth it and pour over the mix of hojicha powder and water. You can add some sweetener if you like and it’s ready! Perfect, nutty hojicha latte in your own home.
