The matcha bowl is handcrafted on a potter’s wheel from grey clay with a delicate addition of chamotte and glazed using a formula rooted in centuries-old Japanese tradition.
The matchawan is a traditional vessel used in the Japanese tea ceremony. It’s also the most convenient bowl for preparing matcha, which is best whisked with a bamboo whisk (chasen). ). The bowl’s vertical walls and wide base make it easy to whisk the matcha into the water and quickly create a smooth, frothy layer on top.
Please note that the water used to prepare matcha should not exceed 80°C.
This bowl is part of a special limited edition KOOE for MOYA, created by the Kraków-based ceramic studio KOOE. Each piece is distinguished not only by its elegant form but also by exceptional durability, thanks to high-temperature firing.
