SATO MUG
The Sato cup is a unique vessel for drinking leaf tea. Its pattern resembles water reeds swayed by the wind on a cold day — hence its name Sato, which means ‘reed’ in Japanese. Fluted walls and a delicate structure make the cup sit comfortably in your hands.
The teacup was made in Japan on the Honshu island in the city of Toki, famous for manufacturing traditional Shino pottery. First, the vessel is shaped with a mould. Next, the final shape and patterns are made by hand, which is why the cups are slightly different from each other.
