Serax is a project that brings together some of the most talented artists from around the world, specializing in creating unique functional art objects. Belgian artists Giel Dedeurwaerder & Brent Neve in their search for a balance between functionality, aesthetics and Japanese tradition – have created a unique Collage set. In their own words, “We managed to find the golden mean in proportions, materials and shape. All this makes the Collage set, in addition to its main function, also works well as an original decoration.” Their creation fits perfectly into the Japanese tea ceremony.
Collage cups are a contemporary version of traditional Japanese handicraft. Belgian artists Dedeurwaerder & Neve succeeded in combining unique design, top quality workmanship and functionality. The shape and proportions of the dishes provide comfort of use, and the creators themselves secured an award in the prestigious competition of applied design – Henry Van De Velde 2019. Collage cups are made of noble acacia wood, the warm matte color of which gives them a unique character. In the interest of preserving the properties of Collage teapots can only be washed by hand, and storage in a dark and dry place will ensure that the natural color and shape will last. The teapot is made of cast iron, and its shape and color combines beautifully with the cups, made of acacia wood. It is suitable for any type of burner except induction and microwave ovens. The teapot has a tea brewer. Hand wash only.
