Fubuki (吹雪) means “snowstorm” in Japanese – that moment when wind and snow weave together in a calm, almost hypnotic dance. The bright, milky-white surface of this bowl evokes freshly snow-covered mountain landscapes and the stillness of a winter morning.
The bowl is handcrafted from high-quality ceramic. Its subtly irregular form highlights the artisanal character of the piece and makes every one unique. Gentle plays of light across the surface give it a distinctive depth and natural character.
Fubuki is perfect for the everyday matcha ritual, bringing calm, harmony, and a touch of nature-inspired Japanese aesthetics to the experience. Each bowl is handmade, so its appearance and dimensions may vary slightly from those shown in the photo.
The traditional way to prepare matcha comes from the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It involves using a matcha bowl, a bamboo whisk- chasen and a bamboo spoon- chashaku.
Place 2 chashaku spoons of matcha (1,5g) in a matcha bowl and pour 100ml of hot water (80 °C). Chasen in hand, vigorously whisk your matcha from the wrist in m-shaped, not circular, motion. In about 20 seconds your bowl should be filled with a perfect jade-green foam. You can add more water now if you like your matcha to be less strong.
