MATCHAWAN AKI
The Aki matcha bowl, maintained in shades of beige, green, and bronze, adorned with hand-painted leaves, is work of art alike originating from the heart of Aichi Prefecture in Japan. The inspiration for creating this piece was drawn from Japanese ceramic tradition and nature. Each bowl is meticulously handmade on a potter’s wheel, giving it a unique character. Delicate, hand-painted leaves add uniqueness and charm to the bowl, transporting us to the tranquil world of nature during matcha ceremonies. Aki, crafted by hand, is not only beautiful but also practical; it is dishwasher-safe on a delicate cycle.
The traditional way to prepare matcha comes from the Japanese Tea Ceremony. It involves using a matcha bowl, a bamboo whisk- chasen and a bamboo spoon- chashaku. Place 2 chashaku spoons of matcha (1,5g) in a matcha bowl and pour 100ml of hot water (80 °C). Chasen in hand, vigorously whisk your matcha from the wrist in m-shaped, not circular, motion. In about 20 seconds your bowl should be filled with a perfect jade-green foam. You can add more water now if you like your matcha to be less strong. |
