Sanza mug

The Sanza cup is a vessel for drinking leaf tea and other infusions. Its classic floral pattern and subdued colours are very easy on the eye. Berries visible on the cup reminded us of hawthorn -Sanzashi (jap.) hence the name.

The vessel was shaped in a mold and then painted by hand which results in its unique and unrepeatable pattern. Paints used to decoration are environment friendly. Ceramic mugs are fired in stoves at a temperature exceeding 1300°C and they are dishwasher safe.

What is matcha?

Matcha is powdered green tea obtained from tea plants that are specially shaded from direct sunlight before harvest. This results in higher chlorophyll and antioxidant contents and a richer, greener color. After harvesting, the fresh leaves are steamed, dried and ground to powder in traditional mills. Contrary to regular brewed tea, when drinking matcha, we consume the entire tea leaf and this way we supply our body all nutrients contained in matcha tea including those that are insoluble.
